His library has, except for some rare editions, been dispersed into the Mills Library stacks. The books that accompanied the third accrual have been listed but not yet catalogued.

Bargain and sale by John Jones of Niagara [Niagara-on-the-Lake] in Lincoln in the province of Upper Canada, tailor, and Jane, his wife, to Phinihas Howell of Niagara, carpenter, of a tract of land, with all buildings on it, on the north-eastern part of Lot 30 in the town of Niagara for £294. Jones had the land by letters patent, dated 16 Nov. 1804 (registered 7 Dec. 1804 in Book R, fol. 351). Boundaries of the property include Prideaux Street and the house of Elizabeth Thompson. Among the conditions of sale, for ten shillings, Jane Jones agreed to quitclaim her right to her dower. Dated at Niagara, 29 Jan. 1806. The collection consists of a diary kept from 1 November [1835?] to 14 March [1837?] when the Elliotts were living in Quebec City, Canada. The diarist is presumed to be Jane Elliott. Also in the collection is a play, "My Niece!!--In One Act"; a diary titled "Diary or Young Night Thoughts", 2 May 1830 to 10 September 1830; an undated essay about chalk; and 2 undated letters, written in Italian, possibly from R. Ferry, with one addressed to Luigia. The pencil drawing is presumably of the St. Lawrence River.

The fonds contains manuscript material from the three volumes of Newman’s Hudson’s Bay Company histories, which have been heavily annotated by Martin Lynch. In addition, there is correspondence between Newman and the Lynches on specific chapters as well as more general matters.

The fonds consists of Jane Abbott’s diary, dated 15 May 1914, to 17 September 1914. The diary is an account of the Abbotts’ visit to Europe, primarily Vienna. The highlights of the diary are the June 28 entry relating to the assassinations and the July 2 entry in which Abbott describes witnessing the return of the bodies to Vienna. The diary also details the Abbotts’ social life in Europe, including their interactions with other American visitors such as Dr. Russell M. Wilder and his wife. The fonds includes 7 documents that were found inside the diary. One of these documents is a letter, dated 26 April 1914, written by Jane Abbott while en route to Europe aboard the TSS Kaiser Franz Joseph I, and addressed to Ruth Abbott of Chicago, likely the sister of Dr. Abbott.

The fonds consists of inkjet prints and silver gelatin prints of different dimensions, depicting workers in factories and other buildings and settings in Dubai, western New York, Slovakia, southern Ontario, and Sydney, Nova Scotia.

The collection consists of James M. Slater's diary and bible and Frank Haviland's photographs of steel structures.

The photographs are black and white, approximately 145 x 90mm of steel structures. The majority of them are related to the Standard Steel Construction company. Many of the photos have notations on the back, most of it in short form; it is assumed the notations are related to the construction. There is one photo of a group of nine men, none of them are identified, but it is titled “Standard Steel, Port Robinson Ont.” The photo is circa 1912. There are three photographs of the Falls View Bridge when it collapsed in 1938 which were taken by John A. Cowan of Welland and sent to Haviland. A few of the older photos also bear his initials.
