Physical condition

Immediate source of acquisition

This letter was removed from McMaster University Library's copy of Lady Mary Wortley Montagu's Six Town Eclogues (1747). It is not, however, by Lady Mary Montagu as it was once thought. The book was purchased by Bernard Quaritch Ltd. in 1986 from David Holmes in Philadelphia and then resold to McMaster University later that year or in early 1987.
