The early nineteenth century owner of the book (which has been catalogued as a rare book (C2584), apparently had access to the papers of Mrs. Dixon's niece, Mrs. Eliza Bunce. It seems Mrs. Bunce saw this volume through the press and kept the original manuscripts; from these the owner copied a number of unpublished poems, and added some which were printed in the newspaper at later dates, and lines which were found in a copy of the book in the British Museum. Two leaves are bound in the book and do not form part of the page count above.
