The fonds consists of 8 b&w photographs, some mounted on board, and signed by White. They include an American woodock in its nest; a grasshopper sparrow on a branch, a common tern approaching its nest; eggs in the nest of a veery; a luna moth; a yellow lady’s slipper (2 copies); lily pads and flower. Exhibition cards are pasted on the verso of two of the photographs.

The collection consists of four accruals. The first accrual consists of 4 letters and 1 note from James to Edmund Gosse, 1 letter to Messrs. Clay, [?] & Taylor, 1 printed letter to his friends on the occasion of his seventieth birthday, and printed materials including the order of service for his funeral. The second and third accruals consist of adaptations of two of James' novels by other authors. The fourth accrual is a copyright registration document.

The fonds consists of a constitution and minutes. The constitution, dated 10 August 1953, is written on ten pages of a titled bound book. Most of the book is blank but the last three pages contain minutes of meetings from September to December 1853.

Israel Moise (Isy) Esses fonds

There have been two accruals. The first accrual consists of three copybooks, 1934-1938, kept by Isy Esses. The copybooks contain carbons of his handwritten letters as well as financial statements and shipment lists. Other documents, such as telegrams, receipts, invoices, and bills of exchange, are either pasted into the books or found loose. There are also incoming and outgoing letters and other documents, 1938-1941, which have been removed from a binder. The second accrual consists of one copybook, 1939-1942, as well as several files of correspondence. Almost all of the fonds is in English, although there are a few documents in Arabic.

The fonds consists of three handwritten manuscripts. Pierrot sauvé was published under the title La Rédemption de Pierrot in 1903. Le Songe d'une nuit d'hiver was also published in 1903. Pierrot à Stamboul was published by James B. Sanders in the Revue d'histoire du théâtre 1980 (# 3) : 232-247. The manuscripts are 25, 21 and 13 pages respectively. They are undated, but were probably written sometime in the 1880s. The pantomimes are written in French.

Miller family fonds

The fonds consists of b&w photographs removed from an album. They are both family and business photographs. The business photographs include one with a group of men standing in front of a make-shift building with the sign “Robert Miller & Sons, General Contractors”. Many photographs show the construction of what appears to be a lock wall with gates. The family photographs include the following: formal family portraits, one of which is captioned “Young Fred”; vacation photographs at the family cottage north of Toronto – one is dated 1904 – with boats; vacation photographs of a trip out West possibly in the mid to late 1910s, including the Yale Hotel and Stanley Park; photographs of various family members in automobiles with one captioned “Packard?”,possibly mid to late 1910s; lakeships, group on a boat, children playing and other photographs. In addition, the fonds contains the marriage certificate of Fred R. Miller and Edna A. Noxon.

Muskoka Cottage Sanatorium

The album contains approximately 95 photographs (silver and albumen prints). There are photographs of the exterior of the sanatorium, the grounds, the lake, and the steamship “Medora”. People are shown canoeing, sailing, swimming, and playing tennis. A few of the women are dressed as nurses. There are several photographs of children and family groups. A few photographs clearly were not taken in Muskoka: i.e., a wagon and oxen in front of a chocolate store, three houses on a city street, and others. There are two “Gregory post cards” at the end of the album. One is of “Moonlight on Milford Bay, Muskoka” and the other of the Cedar Wild boathouse. It is pmk Toronto, Canada 10 Sept. [189-]. Unfortunately none of the photographs are captioned; the creator of the album is not known.

North-West Rebellion Scrapbooks

The first was compiled and annotated by Theodore Henry James Charmbury, who was a photographer in Saskatchewan. It consists of clippings and 41 photographs. A detailed description of the scrapbook and the material found therein is included in the box.
The second scrapbook is a collection of contemporary newspaper clippings about the Rebellion, pasted over the account book of James McDowell, an agent of The Ontario Mutual Life Assurance Co., London. The material was pasted into the ledger sometime after 1883.

Paul Nash collection

The fonds contains 11 letters written by and to Paul Nash. Ten of the letters in the collection are written to R. H. Wilenski (1887-), an art critic. The other letter is to Desmond Flower (1907-) of Cassell's. Flower writes about Nash's work on Urne Buriall in his autobiography, Fellows in Foolscap (1991).
