The fonds contains a typescript of The Outrageous Apostle: A Play Based on a Novel, Hadrian The Seventh, by Fr. Rolfe (Baron Corvo).

This fonds consists largely of material relating to Calamai’s career in journalism. The files contain professional materials, including research, writing, and items, and some personal materials. There are extensive files for Calamai’s major journalism projects, and there are a large number of files that include clippings and teleprint copies of Calamai’s many news articles. The files also include general reportorial material that Calamai has accumulated during his long career as a reporter. Donated books were removed from the rest of the materials and have been catalogued for Research Collections.

Series consists of correspondence acquired with Archives 1 and 2. (It should be noted, however, that correspondence continues to be acquired). The scope of this series is vast both in terms of the time period covered and the topics and correspondents featured. The letters range from Russell’s teen years to the last year of his life. While the series is called ‘personal’ correspondence to distinguish it from his more ‘political’ correspondence featured in the 300, 500 and 600 series, as well as his publishing (400) and legal (800) correspondence, it touches on all aspects of his life, including philosophy, peace, social issues, love affairs and family matters.

Included is correspondence with Russell's wives Alys (Pearsall Smith) Russell, Dora (Black) Russell, Patricia (Spence) Russell, and Edith (Finch) Russell; Russell's children, Conrad, John Conrad, and Katharine (Tait); the wives of his brother, Frank; and Russell's lovers, Ottoline Morrell and Constance Malleson.

Some of the letters received have been annotated by Russell. In many cases, carbon copies of Russell’s outgoing letters are included; in more recent years, copies of Russell’s replies were typed on the verso of the original letters received. In a few cases, there are also original letters written and sent by Russell that found their way back to him or the archive--for example, those written to Margaret Llewelyan Davies and Lucy Donnelly.

The fonds contains poem manuscripts and a single letter. The identity of Mrs. Russell, to whom the single letter in this collection was written and for whom the poems, addressed to "Lydia", were presumably composed, is unknown.

The fonds consists of administrative records: correspondence, minutes, reports, circulars, news letters and published materials. There have been nine accruals and one addendum.

Series consists of correspondence and printed material relating to Russell's anti-nuclear warfare activities during 1953-1955, including the broadcast of "Man's Peril", 23 Dec 1954, the development of the Russell-Einstein Manifesto (including correspondence with Einstein), and other matters. Letters from Russell are typescript copies. Acquired as part of Archives 1.

The fonds contains 11 letters written by and to Paul Nash. Ten of the letters in the collection are written to R. H. Wilenski (1887-), an art critic. The other letter is to Desmond Flower (1907-) of Cassell's. Flower writes about Nash's work on Urne Buriall in his autobiography, Fellows in Foolscap (1991).

There have been three accruals. There was a small second accrual of 2 letters from Patrick Lane to Fraser Sutherland. The text of one of these letters was transcribed by Fraser Sutherland in his letter to McMaster of 7 May 1976. The location of the two letters is unknown. The third accrual consits of a letter from Lane to Asher Joram (Jack), a letter from Lane to Norman Hart, and b&w print illustrations.

The collection is mainly concerned with Blake's visit to Toronto in September and October of 1899 and Cronin's wish that the visit serve as expression of support for Irish Home Rule. Besides correspondence between Cronin and Blake, the collection contains a holograph copy of a letter from Lord John Russell (1792-1878) dated 16 October 1839 letters from Senator John O'Donohoe and various notes for speeches by Cronin, one dated as late as 30 May 1919.

Series consists of mostly letters received by Patricia (Peter) Spence from a variety of correspondents, including Russell’s daughter, Kate (Katharine Tait); Spence’s mother, “Mrs. Spence”; Gamel Brenan, Gerald Brenan, Alice Crunden, Moya Llewelyn Davies, Joan Malleson, Miles Malleson, Ottoline Morell, Edna Pearce; and many others. As noted in the RA2 finding aid: “Some letters are addressed to Russell and a few others to both.” Received as part of Archives 2.

Patricia would become Russell’s third wife in 1936. She had served as governess to Russell’s children, Kate and John. Russell separated from the children’s mother, Dora Black, in 1932; they were divorced in 1936.

The Jo Vellacott fonds contains extensive documentation regarding Vellacott’s work as a historian of women, feminism, pacifism, and Bertrand Russell, both as an academic at several Canadian universities, as well as her work as an independent scholar. The fonds contains a significant amount of correspondence, both personal and professional, which spans almost the entirety of Vellacott’s life. Fonds also contains materials relating to Vellacott’s education, particularly her PhD work at McMaster University, and much of her personal and scholarly writings. It also contains materials relating to Vellacott’s Quakerism and involvement with the Thousand Island Monthly Meetings, as well as photographs of Vellacott and paintings and sketches she made.

This log book covers Douglas Cameron's period of active service over the European continent (Berlin, Cherbourg, Guernsey, Nuremberg, Genoa, Turin and elsewhere) -- a total of 325 flying hours in daylight and 271 hours at night. Two sorties recorded in the log resulted in the awarding of Victoria Crosses, to Rawdon H. Middleton and Sergeant Bazalgette.

The collection consists of printed materials such as programmes and resolutions concerning party meetings, the 1970 election, as well as bulletins. A pamphlet collection by leading party figures supplements the collection.
