The fonds consists of letters written by Drury to his mother, grandmother, grandfather and aunt Fran. The letters discuss Drury's day to day activities, the people he has met and the places he has visited. In the last letter Drury describes his experience with the Fleet Illuminations and includes a newspaper clipping (17 July 1935) covering the event.

The letters are hand written in ink and pencil on varying qualities of paper. A preservation copy was made of a letter written in pencil on poor quality paper. Repair work was done to the newspaper clipping and a preservation copy included in the file.

The collection consists of an autograph album which belonged to Dorothy Dowie and contains two poems by Roberts, "The Cricket" and "The Spirit of Beauty" as well as four untitled lines. A letter to Dowie was laid in the album. Also in the collection is a poem by Roberts, "Colour Toasts". Dowie's album also contains four autograph lines signed by Wilson MacDonald. For letters written by Roberts, researchers are directed to the Walter Jackson McCrea fonds.

The fonds consists of two pocket diaries kept by Taylor in 1917 and 1919. There are also three bound typescripts of his autobiography, “Nothing but the Truth”, one of which has some photographs. The photographs include: two taken in Saskatchewan (p. 51); three from his university days (pp. 57, 61, 63) and one of his wife and infant son in England (p.96). He wrote his autobiography several years after his second marriage in 1965. It is dedicated to his grandchildren. Two of the volumes are similar in content and cover his life from boyhood to his return from World War I. The third volume, a typescript carbon, also describes his life after his return to Canada.

This notebook, the property of Hilde Löw, contains stamps of the Bund der Deutschen in Böhmen. Many pages also have postcards (pasted in) and patriotic sentiments written by her acquaintances (Emma Glatz, Camilla Wolf, Berta Hoffman, Lisette Rahn, and others).

Series consists of various legal documents used in the divorce proceedings between Russell and Dora Russell including two Heads of Agreements; affidavits and petitions by Russell and Dora Russell; affidavits from approximately fifteen individuals about Beacon Hill School; statements; draft of Russell's will and a deed poll; deed of gift; earnings record; memorandum; some correspondence and investigative reports; and, as noted in the print finding aid for Archives 2, “’An Inventory of the Furniture and Household Effects at 'Telegraph House', Harting, Petersfield’. This document is interesting for its listing of the books in Telegraph House, among other things.”

Peppiart about Stephenson’s enlistment, a letter from Edwin, 2 greeting cards from Norma (his sister), and a photocopy of a letter from Roy to Harry (Henry Arthur Stephenson, 22 October 1918); (11) 8 b&w photographs (several being reproductions), including group photograph of the Burlington Volunteers, 1st Canadian Contingent, and the grave site of A.T. Thomson at Mount St. Eloi Cemetery; (12) black notebook of WWI news clippings and other clippings of the period; (13) ephemeral publications, including Thanksgiving Service Canadian Corps Vimy Ridge (April 9th 1917), Regimental Songs Canadian Expeditionary Force 1914-1915, The 1st Canadian Division in the Battle of 1918, The Listening Post (no. 22, 15 February 1917), The Rose of No Man’s Land (music score), Bruce Bairnsfather’s Fragments from France, part VI, and the War Pictorial (embarkation number, part four); (14) WWI medal and brass buttons from Stephenson’s coat; (15) discharge certificate, 2 June 1919; (16) information about Stephenson’s war record from Gwendoline Stephenson, his daughter, and a copy of Stephenson’s attestation papers.

Their have been two accruals. The first accrual consists of correspondence, manuscripts, biographical information, news clippings, pamphlets, posters, scrapbooks, issues of Grip, 1873-1894, and engraving plates. The second accrual (16-1990) consists of a cartoon and photographs. The fonds was supplemented by many of Bengough's books which have been catalogued.

There have been two accruals. The first accrual consists of a telegram, programmes, menus, newspapers, post cards, and a commemorative medal. The second accrual consists of a passport, guidebooks, and a postcard of the Vimy Memorial.

Series consists of mostly letters received by Patricia (Peter) Spence from a variety of correspondents, including Russell’s daughter, Kate (Katharine Tait); Spence’s mother, “Mrs. Spence”; Gamel Brenan, Gerald Brenan, Alice Crunden, Moya Llewelyn Davies, Joan Malleson, Miles Malleson, Ottoline Morell, Edna Pearce; and many others. As noted in the RA2 finding aid: “Some letters are addressed to Russell and a few others to both.” Received as part of Archives 2.

Patricia would become Russell’s third wife in 1936. She had served as governess to Russell’s children, Kate and John. Russell separated from the children’s mother, Dora Black, in 1932; they were divorced in 1936.

The fonds is contained in a green leather album trimmed in gold. It consists of correspondence mostly addressed to Katharine Birkmyre, although a few letters are addressed to her father, Canon Skelton and to her husband. It also includes invitations, dinner menus and autographs, two photographs of the Red Cross Hospital in Gibraltar, and her admission badge to the Royal enclosure at the Ascot races in 1937. There is one letter from Archibald Philip Primrose, Earl of Rosebery and another from Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman, both prime ministers, to Henry Birkmyre. Both letters concern Birkmyre's defeats in elections held in 1895 and 1899. There is also one letter from Edmund Gosse, poet and man of letters, addressed to Lady Charnwood. The album has been annotated by Katharine Birkmyre.

There have been two accruals. The first accrual contains the typescript of the Tupper book which has been annotated by Margaret Marshall Saunders as well a typescript of an unpublished work by her, "Poor Phoebe". There is correspondence relating to the Tupper book, including correspondence between Edward Saunders and Sir Charles Tupper (1821-1915). Tupper was a physician from Nova Scotia who briefly served as Prime Minister of Canada in 1896. There is correspondence gathered as part of the research of the Tupper book, including one undated letter from Sir John A. MacDonald (1815-1891) to Tupper. There is also correspondence to Margaret Marshall Saunders, mainly from the 1930s. This accrual also contains photographs and news clippings. This accrual was supplemented by books owned by Margaret Marshall Saunders. They have been separately catalogued. The second accrual is a letter, 28 March 1894, from Margaret Marshall Saunders to Faith Fenton.
