The text of the hymn begins "Did Jesus weep for human woes". The date "c1780's" has been written in pencil by an unknown hand. Research Collections has two broadsides containing hymns. One is titled "The First Hymn Sung by the Charity Children" and is dated 7 July 1713. The other one is "The Second Hymn Sung by the Charity Children" and is dated 20 Sept. 1914. The text of the broadsides does not match this manuscript.

There have been two accruals. The first accrual consists of newspaper clippings and correspondence with individuals such as Lincoln Alexander and Jean Sauve regarding research funding, grants and science policy issues important to Dr. Spenser. There is also correspondence pertaining to library acquisitions made possible through the assistance of Dr. Spenser, some printed materials relating to McMaster University and newspaper clippings. The second accrual consists of his doctorial thesis (1952) and offprints of his published works, numbered 1-136. The third accrual consists of photos and ephemera from Spenser's trips to Japan.

Fonds consists of a minute book, August 1971 to November 1974; dues books, and brief historical information about the Local.

This collection of international postcards was pieced together by Morris Norman, a Toronto chartered accountant and notable collector of Canadiana, over a period of 30 years. The cards were purchased by Mr. Norman from postcard and antiquarian dealers.

In certain cases it was not possible to discern a geographic or national point of origin: ephemera, 224 cards; France and Germany, 152; miscellaneous, 557 cards; other foreign, 106 cards; USA and Mexico, 241; UK and Ireland, 459, totallying ca. 1,639 cards. The second accrual (50-2008) has been arranged as follows: France and Germany, 4 cards ; other foreign, 12 cards ; USA and Mexico, 20 cards; UK and Ireland, 22 cards; uncategorized, 8 cards, totalling 67 cards. The third accrual (11-2010) has been arranged as follows: ephemera, 7 cards; France and Germany, 9 cards; other foreign, 4 cards; USA and Mexico, 22 cards; UK and Ireland, 38 cards, totalling 80 cards. The fourth accrual (2011-43) has been arranged as follows: Australia, 1 card; Austria, Italy, German, Switzerlands, 20 cards; France (North America), 1 card; German origin, 2 cards; Ireland, 1 card; Mexico, 1 card, Spain, 1 card; U.K., 23 cards; U.S.A., 28 cards, totalling 78 cards. This arrangement is a preliminary one, and the postcards may be re-arranged upon further examination.

Bettina Randall's Charges is the second part of an illustrated story for girls which also contains seven water-coloured illustrations and another seven India ink pen-and-ink drawings.

At end of ms.: "First Part commenced 1915. Second Part finished 1920 (aged 16)". A charming period piece of the Home Front, featuring Bettina, Pixie and Trixie, Lieutenant and Mrs. Lancing, Colette, Neanette and Ronnie. Chapter 1 entitled "Belgian Flag Day" and Chapter 3 "An Air Raid". Also contains a black-and-white studio portrait of Warden herself.

The fonds consists of one minute book covering the period 5 September 1872 to 27 February 1879. There are a few other scattered entries in the volume: 16 January 1872, 24 November 1881 and 1 December 1881.

Iroquois Falls is a town in Northern Ontario, home to the Abitibi Pulp and Paper Co. Ltd. The Great Fire took place on 28-29 July of 1916. Over one hundred people died.

The collection consists of three photographs all stamped on the verso “British and Colonial Press Ltd., Toronto”. One is of the Abitibi Pulp and Paper Co. Ltd plant. The second has a handwritten caption on the verso: “#18 Iroquois Falls – Bldgs. constructed in 3 weeks with Govt. Relief lumber by voluntary labor by employees of Abitibi Pulp & Paper Co. Standing on the steps are are Messrs. A.J. Hodgson & F.K. Ebbits, members of the Relief Committee at Iroquois Falls.” The third has a handwritten caption on the verso: “#19 General view burned area of Iroquois Falls. Abitibi Pulp and Paper Co. in background.” There is also a postcard photograph of the plant.

Fenton kept a journal of the voyage. In additon, letters to friends that he wrote after his arrival in Quebec, and then from York in 1822 and 1826 are contained in the journal as well as an untitled poem and the musical score for "The Indian Hymn". Two leaves of the journal are badly torn. Many leaves are left blank. The inscription on the inside front cover is: "Transaction book of the Druids-in-deed".

Item consists of a manuscript copy, written into a blank book, of an extract from the printed work by Claude Comiers entitled Pratique Curieuse, ou Les Oracles des Sibylles, Sur Chaque Question Proposée, the first edition of which was published in 1693. Subsequent editions were published into the late eighteenth century. It is unclear which edition is represented in this manuscript copy. An edition of 1750 matches this manuscript in terms of content and page numbering.

His book Pratique Curieuse uses tables and keys to determine the fortunes of the reader, based on calculations made through numbers associated with various elements. No description of how to make these calculations has been included in the portion contained in this manuscript copy.

Foliated [1], 1-170, [1], the final page being blank. These numbers were derived from the page numbers of the edition used to make the copy. The blank book was imposed in quarto format and bound with six bands. It is certain that this was a blank book, since, for example, the lines written on the first page transferred to the inside of the front cover before they dried. The original pale blue paper cover was at some point itself covered over, likely due to the apparent cracking of the spine, with a slightly thinner red wavy striped paper cover cut slightly too large, now also cracked and chipped along the spine. Paper has the watermark 'MI' with what appears to be a bell and an oak leaf surmounted by a crown. The only illustration is on p. 73 and depicts an angel's head with wings, drawn perhaps with the same pen and ink used to transcribe the book. Italic hand. Relatively modern and consistent orthography.

The collection consists of a score, libretto, rehearsal schedule, programme, poster, and tear-sheet of a review for his opera Le Testament de Villon, performed at the University of California at Berkeley on 13 November 1971.

The book contains descriptions of events that took place in the Picardie and Artois regions of France in 1918.

The collection consists of 110 photographs taken by Arndoli, a number letters received by him, including one from Sir Edmund Ironside, and other items related to the First World War. From the Second World War, there are five photographs.

The fonds consists of 5 letters written to Faith Fenton by Cyrus C. Adams, an editor with the New York Sun, about her articles for that newspaper.

The collection consists of b&w photographs of fire trucks. There are trucks from the Burlington, Grimbsy, Kamsack, Kelowna, Kentville, Niagara, Niagara Falls, Pickering, Point Claire, Revelstoke, and the Canadian National Parks Fire Departments. Many of the trucks are identified as Bickle trucks. Founded in Winnipeg in 1906, the company had been moved to Woodstock, Ont. becoming Bickle Fire Engines Ltd. in 1922. Four of the photographs are taken by Charles W. Hayrall of Woodstock, Ont. One of the photographs was taken by W.J. Oliver. Most of the photographs are stationary portraits of trucks. Only three of the photographs show any action: two men are atop the Canadian National Parks truck operating the fire hose at a lake; one photograph is of a truck moving down a street; one photograph is of men climbing a fire truck ladder.
