The collection consists of a vast range of records and documents created throughout the University's existence, both in Hamilton and Toronto. However, it is not a complete record of the University's activities.

Sem títuloThis collection contains uncatalogued pamphlets pertaining to communism, socialism, and class struggle. The pamphlets are global in scope, although they are all in English unless otherwise noted. The bulk of the collection originates from China and Soviet Russia during the post-WWII period, although Cuba and Britain are strongly represented as well. These materials include a selection of translated speeches from Mao Zedong, as well as Joseph Stalin, Vyacheslav Molotov, and other prominent Soviet policy-makers from the era. Also included within the collection are Cuban communist pamphlets from the late 1950s. These documents are comprised of anti-American tracts, pro-revolutionary materials, and a small number of Fidel Castro’s speeches. Some of the Cuban material is only available in French. In addition, there is a small selection of pamphlets published in Britain during the late 1930s and early 1940s concerning class struggle and working conditions for labourers, as well as numerous pamphlets exploring Argentina’s May Revolution of 1810 against Spain. The rest of the collection is composed of miscellaneous pamphlets and publications relating to communism, Marxism or Leninism, civil rights and women's rights.
The fonds is very comprehensive and includes: 32 notebooks in which Cockburn composed most of his song lyrics from 1969 to 2002; song sheets and scores; correspondence, including fan mail; awards, including gold records; promotional material, including posters; tour books; scrapbooks; photographs; a copy of each of Cockburn’s recordings; video and film items; and other material. The eighth accrual consists mostly of audio recordings as well as some additional textual materials and realia.
Sem títuloFirst accrual to fonds consists of scripts and artwork from two of Ho Che Anderson’s comics: I Want to Be Your Dog (an erotic comic originally published in five issues from 1990-1991 and later released as a collected edition in 1996) and Miles from Home (published as a digital edition in 2013).
Second accrual to fonds comprises Anderson’s original artwork from the 1980s and 1990s, as well as scripts, story notes, and storyboards from the early 1980s to 2022.

The fifth accrual (21-2001), which extends to 9.0 m, consists of boxes 96-143 and is arranged into the following 7 series: manuscripts; correspondence; the Writers' Union of Canada; Writers' In Electronic Residence programme; Mentorship programme and Editorial; Readings, grants, awards, juries, reviews and projects; and personal and miscellaneous.
The sixth accrual (32-2004) which extends to 6.3 m, and has been arranged in seven series: teaching, correspondence, writing, writing related activities, personal documentation and memorabilia, printed material, and moving images and sound recordings.has not been arranged, described or measured.
The seventh accrual (71-2008) measures 8 m and has been arranged into six series: teaching; correspondence; writing and royalties; readings, conferences, appointment books; photographs, artwork, moving images.
The eighth accrual (26-2011) measures 1.9 m and has been arranged into five series: writing; correspondence; teaching, readings, workshops and conferences; personal; printed and other materials.
The ninth accrual (2012-11) measures 1.5 m and has been arranged into 8 series: Manuscripts of novels and poetry; Research; Teaching, Festivals and Events; Business; Correspondence; Manuscripts edited by Musgrave; Personal; and Audio-Visual and graphic materials.

Sem títuloThere have been three accruals. The first accrual consists of microfilmed scripts of dramas produced by the CBC. The original scripts were disposed of after microfilming. The majority of these scripts are of radio plays, although there are some which were produced for televison. Dramatists include Fletcher Markle, W.O. Mitchell, Lester Sinclair, Joseph Schull, Pierre Berton, Len Peterson and George Salverson, among many others. The second accrual consists of printed materials; the texts of speeches broadcast 1940-1941, and pamphlets printed by the CBC describing their programming from 1936-1943. The third accrual consists of 4 audio reels, containing a speech by the Rt. Hon. Arthur Meighen (1874-1960), Prime Minister of Canada, 1920-1921 and 1926, to the Canadian Club in 1936 with an introduction of W.A. Bishop.

The collection also contains a b&w photograph of Masefield, signed and inscribed to Harper in 1959 and a copy of Masefield’s play, Good Friday, signed and inscribed to Harper in July 1955.
