The mention of a Dr. Michael Schüppach, age 72, suggests the year 1779, which is confirmed by the indication that October 5th is a Tuesday. The manuscript is signed by Ralph Sheldon.

The fonds consists of records related to Charlotte Gray’s writing career, particularly the period from the late 1990s on when she began producing non-fiction monographs on Canadian subjects and persons. A smaller subset of records attests to Gray’s activities as a cultural commentator and lecturer from the 2010s on.

Their have been two accruals. The first accrual consists of correspondence, manuscripts, biographical information, news clippings, pamphlets, posters, scrapbooks, issues of Grip, 1873-1894, and engraving plates. The second accrual (16-1990) consists of a cartoon and photographs. The fonds was supplemented by many of Bengough's books which have been catalogued.
