Biografie
Milos Novotny, mathematician, was born in Czechoslovakia and educated at Charles University in Prague from 1949 to 1953. He taught at the Czech Technical University in Prague from 1953 to 1963. He arrived in Canada in 1968 for graduate study at McMaster University where he received his doctorate in 1972. His thesis was titled, "Integration and Laplace Transformation of Orthogonal Series." After graduating from McMaster University, he taught at the University of Guelph, Université de Montréal, and finally Champlain Regional College in St. Lambert.

The fonds consists of manuscripts of Novotny's research including his thesis and twelve chapters from an unidentified work, lecture notes from classes at Champlain College, and a small amount of correspondence.

As of Dec. 2025, all materials stored offsite, including boxes 1-3 of this archive, may only be accessed after review by the William Ready Division's conservator. Anticipate a minimum of 10 business days from the time of your request to a response from the Division. The Division reserves the right to deny access to any original records due to conservation concerns. Please contact the archives as early as possible to request access.
