Robert Allen ("Bob") Jaggard collection
The documents in this collection were gathered by Robert Kristofferson for a biography about Mr. Jaggard, The Bob Jaggard Story. They concern Jaggard's involvement with his union and the labour movement, politics, and local causes and consist of correspondence, news clippings, an incomplete court transcripts. Most of the documents are photocopies.

The fonds consists of four accruals. The first accrual (47-1992) measures12.8 m, and is arranged in the following series: administration; campaigns; research files; peace groups; financial records; photographs, posters, and circulars; films, filmstrips, videocassette, and audio cassettes; Toronto Association for Peace. Arrangement is chronological in the administration series with alphabetical ordering within each year, and alphabetical for the following series with some classification ranking. In the administration series some of the material was found in complete disarray. Undated material in a particular year may not belong to that year. The second accrual (07-1995) measures .9 m, and is arranged chronologically in one series, administration. The third accrual (20-2002) measures .2 m, and is arranged in one series, administration and contains constitution and minutes, financial records, correspondence, fund raising and campaigns and publications and affiliations. The fourth accrual (32-2003) measures 15 cm and is arranged in one series, John Hanly Morgan correspondence, and includes minutes, circulars, news clippings, and photographs collected by Morgan. Morgan's original chronological arrangement has been maintained.

The collection consists of 4 letters addressed to William Mullis, editor, The Hamilton Spectator, Hamilton, Ont. and 1 letter to T. W. D. Farmer, editor, The Hamilton Spectator. The letters are from Rt. Hon. Arthur Meighen (1874-1960), Prime Minister of Canada, 1920-1921 and 1926; Vincent Massey (1887-1967), Governor-General of Canada, 1952-1959; John Hylan, Mayor of New York city; and William Maxwell Aitken, Baron Beaverbrook (1879-1964). There is also an autograph by Arthur Meighen.

The story of the campaign to organize Eaton's is told by Eileen Sufrin in The Eaton Drive: The Campaign to Organize Canada's Largest Department Store, 1948 to 1952. She was one of the organizers and her book is based on her memories plus archival material that she gathered from institutions in Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver.

The fonds was supplemented by books from his library which were catalogued for the general stacks.
