Katherine Mansfield collection

The collection consists of transcripts of letters written by Mansfield to her father, Harold Beauchamp, 1916 and 1922, as well as transcripts of some letters written by her father about Katherine Mansfield, 1933-1937. There is also one letter from Isabel C. Clarke to Beauchamp, 1935. The transcripts, all typescript carbons, were presumably made some time after 1937, the date of the last letter.

Albert Mansbridge collection

The collection consists mainly of Mansbridge's letters to Leonard Clark. There are also a few manuscripts concerning Mansbridge, Christmas cards, invitations, and announcements relating to Mansbridge, photographs of Mansbridge, and some pamphlets by Mansbridge. This collection was assembled by his friend Leonard Clark. Clark, an educator, author, editor and poet was born on 1 August 1905 in St. Peter Port, Guernsey. He was made inspector of schools with the Ministry of Education in 1936. He died in London in 1981.

The collection consists of letters written by Magee to Charles and Marion Shaw, 1944-1946. The Shaws were the owners of the North American Leather Company in Omemee, Ontario. There are also letters (typed carbons) from Magee to Dr. Ody and Colonel Harris which may have been enclosed in letters to the Shaws; one letter (a typed carbon) from Shaw to Magee; a draft of an unsigned letter to Sherwood Lett about Magee; and a mimeographed report “Visit to Berlin”, unsigned but by Magee.

The collection consists of over four hundred charters for disbanded lodges in Canada and the records for the Grand Orange Lodge of Ontario West, consisting of Bothwell and Moraviantown. The collection is supplemented by pamphlets published by the Loyal Orange Association of British America as well as by Orange Associations in Britain, Ireland, and other countries in the former British Empire. The collection also contains minute books, cash books and correspondence.

Franz Liszt and his circle collection

Twenty-four of the letters are written by Liszt to a variety of correspondents; one letter is addressed to Liszt from the Executive Committee for the Mozart Jubilee. There is one letter from Dr. S. Jadassohn to an unknown correspondent. The letters are in French and German. The collection also includes translations of documents, a conference report for a concert held in Budapest, a piano completion certificate for one of Liszt's students, a photograph and a contract.

The collection consists of a small amount of correspondence with Glenn Sinclair, who was working on a bibliography of Layton, as well as interviews with and broadcasts by Layton which are available on audio cassettes and transcripts.

There have been two accruals. The first accrual consists almost entirely of printed materials and ephemera. There is one file folder of typescripts and holograph notes. Included in the collection are the 1946 and 1949 constitutions, pamphlets, programs, election materials for Tim Buck and others, conference reports, and correspondence course outlines. Some of the material was issued by the Toronto and Yorks Committee of the party, others by the Ontario Committee. The majority of the collection consists of printed materials and periodicals from a variety of other organizations, in Canada and abroad. There is one signed petition to the Mayor and Council of the City of Toronto which was organized by the Toronto Councils of Unemployed. The second accrual (17-2001) consists of a cigarette once belonging to Tito, correspondence, a speech, Tim Buck programs, and printed autographed materials concerning Paul Robeson.

Klondike Gold Rush collection

After gold was discovered in Bonanza City in 1896, approximately 30, 000 settlers flooded the Yukon in hopes of finding fortune. The name “Klondike” (or “Klondyke”) refers to a town as well as the area surrounding Dawson City where new residents panned for gold.

There have been three accruals. The first accrual consists of a typescript of letters as well as stereo cards, a postcard and tear-sheets. The second accrual consists of b&w photographs as well as one serviette. The third accrual consists of two photographs.

There have been two accruals. The Judaica collection is concerned with Jewish people, organizations, Palestine and Israel. Some of the documents in the first accrual are Holocaust items. The collection contains documents written in 18 languages: English, French, Italian, German, Hebrew, Yiddish, Arabic, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Czech, Lithuanian, Hungarian, Serbian, Dutch, Slovakian, Romanian, Latin. The collection was compiled by Morris Norman. All selling information has been retained in the files.

The collection consists of four accruals. The first accrual consists of 4 letters and 1 note from James to Edmund Gosse, 1 letter to Messrs. Clay, [?] & Taylor, 1 printed letter to his friends on the occasion of his seventieth birthday, and printed materials including the order of service for his funeral. The second and third accruals consist of adaptations of two of James' novels by other authors. The fourth accrual is a copyright registration document.

The documents in this collection were gathered by Robert Kristofferson for a biography about Mr. Jaggard, The Bob Jaggard Story. They concern Jaggard's involvement with his union and the labour movement, politics, and local causes and consist of correspondence, news clippings, an incomplete court transcripts. Most of the documents are photocopies.

Havens family collection

The collection consists of letters written to Havens and his daughter from family, friends, and business people. There is one letter written by his wife Mary (née Hiscott) when she is away visiting her father who is ill. The letters span four generations: Richards Havens (the father), William (the son), Ciscelia (his daughter) and the Elmes (grandchild and spouse). Many of the letters are written from rural communities in Ontario. There are, however, letters written from the Oakfuskee Hills in Alabama and Emigrant Gap, California.
