One certificate of deposit was issued in 1913 before the company was incorporated; two certificates were issued in 1917; the two stock shares are undated. All documents are stamped "cancelled".

The collection consists of the letter to Mrs. Bromley and well as two photgraphs of presumably Canadian troops. One is a postcard photograph. The other is identified as "C sub-section, A.S.C. Section, G.H.Q., 3rd Echelon" and was taken in Rouen, France in September 1916. On the verso of the photograph are signatures of the soldiers -- some of them have very small pasted photographs beside their signatures.

The photographs have been pasted into a scrapbook. Some of the subject matter of the photographs is as follows: dugouts at Vimy Ridge, Passchendaele, and other locations, wounded soldiers being assisted, Trump-Line, Maple Leaf Concert Party, athletic events including a horse show, baseball, track and field, boxing, tug-of-war, General Currie, Little Theatre in London, and Khaki University of Canada (London Branch).

Hamilton Steel Wheel Company Limited was incorporated in 1916 by letter patent under the first part of the Companies Act with its head office in Hamilton, Ontario. Both certificates are stamped "cancelled".

Iroquois Falls is a town in Northern Ontario, home to the Abitibi Pulp and Paper Co. Ltd. The Great Fire took place on 28-29 July of 1916. Over one hundred people died.

The collection consists of three photographs all stamped on the verso “British and Colonial Press Ltd., Toronto”. One is of the Abitibi Pulp and Paper Co. Ltd plant. The second has a handwritten caption on the verso: “#18 Iroquois Falls – Bldgs. constructed in 3 weeks with Govt. Relief lumber by voluntary labor by employees of Abitibi Pulp & Paper Co. Standing on the steps are are Messrs. A.J. Hodgson & F.K. Ebbits, members of the Relief Committee at Iroquois Falls.” The third has a handwritten caption on the verso: “#19 General view burned area of Iroquois Falls. Abitibi Pulp and Paper Co. in background.” There is also a postcard photograph of the plant.

Descriptions of each print or drawing consists of the title (sometimes supplied), measurement, the names of the artist, engraver, publisher or printer, and the source (sometimes a previous collection or from a museum or publication).

Hamilton, Ontario was incorporated in 1847. Edward Jackson purchased property in the future city beginning in 1839. In May 1854 Jackson sold his property to Donald McInnes who later mortgaged the property. By 1859 he had sold the property to the firm of George Peabody and Co.

This is a collection of fourteen letters, some addressed to the editor of Nash’s magazine, mostly written in August and September 1914, the beginning of World War I. One of the letters begins: “you have asked me for a message of encouragement to your readers in the dark hour of our country’s fortune.” The collection ranges from lengthy letters to a few lines. Literary contributors include Barry Pain, Louis Parker, Mrs. W. Desmond Humphreys, E. Temple Thurston. There are also letters from military figures (Major General Sir Henry Page Croft, Major General Sir Alfred Edward Turner, General Sir George Benjamin Wolseley). Other contributions are from Sir T. Vansittart Bowater, the Lord Mayor of London , the Archbishop of Armagh and the Bishop of Chicester.

This collection consists of manuscripts of reviews written by Murphy. Each review is written on the blank back pages of review copies of books that Murphy received. There are nine reviews in all. Two of the books (Margaret Baillie Saunders's Litany Lane and Florence Edythe Balk-Hedges's The Story of the Catacombs) are only signed by Murphy, without a review inside them.

This collection of stereographic images depicts scenes from the South African War, or Boer War (1899-1902). The images were produced by Underwood & Underwood (and one by the Keystone View Company). The Underwood cards are captioned on the front in English and on the back in English, French, German, Spanish, [Danish?], and Russian. Some of these cards have a more lengthy explanation in English as well. The Keystone View card is only captioned in English, with a lengthy description. It depicts 48th Highlanders of Toronto.
