A letter written to Ernest Jones, 10 April 1941, by Oliver Baldwin. The recipient of the letter, Ernest Jones (1879-1958) was a physician, psychoanalyst, and author.

The playscript, "Remarkable Woman," 123p., was later produced as Vivat! Vivat Regina. This version contains a scene and several passages of dialogue which were subsequently cut from the play. The letter by Bolt is dated 11 November 1969.

The recipient of the letter, Oscar Wilde, wit and dramatist (1854-1900) was a contemporary of Rodd's at Oxford. In 1881 Rodd published a book of verse, Songs in the South. Wilde had this book republished in the United States in 1882, when he was visiting there, by J.M. Stoddart & Co., of Philadelphia. The title was changed to Rose Leaf and Apple Leaf and Wilde wrote an introduction, "L'Envoi". The letter makes no reference to the book but was written to Wilde in the United States.

Three different hands appear to have been used. Different paper was used for the last manuscript. Stamped on the front cover is the delta symbol. Stamped on the back cover are the initials of his wife: C.E.M. 1852.Written inside the front cover is the inscription: Jane Moir from her mother, July 1853.

The Jo Vellacott fonds contains extensive documentation regarding Vellacott’s work as a historian of women, feminism, pacifism, and Bertrand Russell, both as an academic at several Canadian universities, as well as her work as an independent scholar. The fonds contains a significant amount of correspondence, both personal and professional, which spans almost the entirety of Vellacott’s life. Fonds also contains materials relating to Vellacott’s education, particularly her PhD work at McMaster University, and much of her personal and scholarly writings. It also contains materials relating to Vellacott’s Quakerism and involvement with the Thousand Island Monthly Meetings, as well as photographs of Vellacott and paintings and sketches she made.
