Beatty Brothers LimitedThe fonds (accession 23-2000) consists of administrative files and correspondence with the speakers who participated in the Shakespeare Seminar held at the Stratford Festival (Stratford, Ont.) between 1961 and 1976. Sponsored by a consortium of Canadian Universities, the Shakespeare Seminar was organized by the Department of Extension at McMaster University under Jackson's directions. The speakers include Shakespearian scholars (e.g. F.W. Bateson, L.C. Knights, and J.F. Kermode), critics and celebrities (e.g. Anthony Burgess, Robertson Davies and Northrop Frye), and actors and directors (e.g. Sir Tyrone Guthrie, Robin Phillips, and William Hutt).

Clarke, AustinPersian manuscript written in black and with illustrations in red ink. It is the work of a scholar. It possibly dates from the 14th century. It contains astrological and cosmological charts and diagrams of stars, moon, suns, and the seasons, giving the auspicious times for prayer. It gives the auspicious times for prayer and also mentions the name of an Emperor Jalaludin Mallik. The manuscript is incomplete: beginning and end pages are missing, as well as portions of pages are excised.
On the front fly leaf, there is writing in a different and unsophisticated hand, unrelated to the main manuscript. It relates some family history and is written in Persian with two words in Arabic. There is a number, 782, at the top of this page. If it is a year, it also dates back to the 14th cebtury.
This collection (19-1997) consists primarily of 32 letters, 3 post cards, 2 cards, and other enclosures written by Arthur Stringer and addressed to Mary Belle Edmonds, a school teacher from St. Thomas, Ontario. They first met in 1933 on the Newfoundland-Labrador boat cruise.

Cooper, ArtThe fonds consists of photographs taken by family members as well as postcards. There are two postcards sent to Mr. and Mrs. L. Arnold by their son or daughter, from Montreal and Maine in 1931, which contain messages. Members of the Arnold family travelled to the National Air races in Cleveland, Ohio in 1932. They also took photographs of Wiley Hardeman Post (1898-1935; the first pilot to fly solo around the world) who visited Kitchener, Ont. with his plane, the “Winnie Mae”. Their vacations took them to Quebec, the Maritimes, and Northern Ontario where they visited the Hollinger Mine, as well as the eastern seaboard and the midwest in the United States. Family members also documented a train derailment in Breslau in 1936 as well as an ice storm in 1930. The photographs have been removed from their original albums pages – there was no cover.
