The fonds is contained in a green leather album trimmed in gold. It consists of correspondence mostly addressed to Katharine Birkmyre, although a few letters are addressed to her father, Canon Skelton and to her husband. It also includes invitations, dinner menus and autographs, two photographs of the Red Cross Hospital in Gibraltar, and her admission badge to the Royal enclosure at the Ascot races in 1937. There is one letter from Archibald Philip Primrose, Earl of Rosebery and another from Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman, both prime ministers, to Henry Birkmyre. Both letters concern Birkmyre's defeats in elections held in 1895 and 1899. There is also one letter from Edmund Gosse, poet and man of letters, addressed to Lady Charnwood. The album has been annotated by Katharine Birkmyre.

After gold was discovered in Bonanza City in 1896, approximately 30, 000 settlers flooded the Yukon in hopes of finding fortune. The name “Klondike” (or “Klondyke”) refers to a town as well as the area surrounding Dawson City where new residents panned for gold.

There have been three accruals. The first accrual consists of a typescript of letters as well as stereo cards, a postcard and tear-sheets. The second accrual consists of b&w photographs as well as one serviette. The third accrual consists of two photographs.

Gordon Bottomley was an English poet and playwright, born in Keighley, Yorkshire on 20 February 1874 who began his working life as a bank clerk. He died on 25 August 1948 in Oare, England.

The collection consists of 4 poems: one is a manuscript, "Lake Memphremagog" and was written there in August 1941. The other three are typescripts : "Laurentians in Summer", "Until we Meet" and "Easter ... 1941...". Duncan has noted on the Laurentians typescript that it was pulbished in the Montreal Star "last week". The Easter typescript is signed.

The collection of 13 posters concern Zimbabwe, Vietnam, Venezuela, the Congo, Cuba, Palestine, as well as African-Americans and Asians, guerrilla fighters, and the Tricontinental third anniversary.

This collection of postcards pertaining to Palestine and Israel comprises two parts.
Part 1: 114 cards produced by Shlomo Narinsky (1885-1960), a Russian-born Jewish photographer, of Holy Land portraits and scenes, printed in sepia photogravure in 1921 by the Jamal Brothers of Jerusalem (numbered 1-118, lacking numbers 82, 106, 108, and 111, but the missing cards were apparently never printed). There are also six other cards from the Middle East, not part of the Narinsky set of cards.

The fonds (seven numbered files, files 10-16) consists of the following: (10) correspondence, 1914-36, including a postcard from Captain W.J. Peppiart about Stephenson’s enlistment, a letter from Edwin, 2 greeting cards from Norma (his sister), and a photocopy of a letter from Roy to Harry (Henry Arthur Stephenson, 22 October 1918); (11) 8 b&w photographs (several being reproductions), including group photograph of the Burlington Volunteers, 1st Canadian Contingent, and the grave site of A.T. The collection contains photographs taken at the Prince of Wales Barracks, Kingsway and the W.D. Barracks in Edmonton; an aircraft display, Edmonton Station, May 1945 (B24 Liberator, Super Fortress, Flying Fortress); and the visit to Edmonton by Princess Alice, Honorary Air Commander of the Women’s Division, and her husband, the Earl of Athlone, Governor-General of Canada, 3 May 1945 (the photographs do not show the couple). There are other photographs of the Gremlins Basketball Team, 1944-45 and aircraft and personnel at Jasper, Alberta. There are also photographs of St. George’s Island Zoo, Calgary; Vancouver, B.C.; as well as weddings and other gatherings. Found loose with the album are photographs of an unidentified parade, a formal group military photograph and other photographs and news clippings.

The fonds consists of minutes which are contained in school exercise notebook, entitled "The Ryerson Composition and Exercise Book" which bears an portrait of Egerton Ryerson. The minutes list the participants of each meeting, what they performed, and remarks by the critic.

The collections contains:
A legal document; James Peters, Maury County, Tennessee, 16 August 1823, re dividing land and slaves;
A letter by Jno. (John) A. Collins, 4 October 1884, to Charles E. Chapman who had requested Collins’s autograph. In the letter Collins writes that he thinks Chapman may be related to Maria W. Chapman, an abolitionist. Collins writes of his memories of her activities in the Anti-Slavery movement.

The album was compiled by someone stationed at Trenton, presumably a nurse, because the b&w photographs are predominantly of nurses on and off duty. There are two group photographs both taken on 9 July 1942 of hospital staff – one contains men in military uniform only, the other of men in military uniform and women in nursing uniforms. Only two album pages contain captions: one is of nursing orderlies, the other of “one hot night in June 1942 on the back porch”. All of the photographs were taken at Trenton except for a photograph of two nurses at Emerald Lake Chalet in the Canadian Rockies. There is one photograph of all personnel on the parade ground – possibly for a BCATP graduation ceremony.

The fonds consists mainly of his writing including manuscripts, computer prints, sound recordings and transcripts of interviews and awards won. There is also a small amount of photographs and correspondence.

Bill father’, Raymond, served in World War II, and the fonds contains his bombardier notes as well as some photographs taken in Europe. Bill’s, mother, Elaine hosted an interview programme on television in Kitchener and the fonds contains materials related to her career. His great great grandfather was a bandmaster. His son Trevor has his own fonds, although there are a few materials related to Trevor in this fonds. His great uncles, Herbert and Norman Philp who served in World War I, also have their own fonds.
