The fonds consists of recordings of prominent speakers and theorists in the field of Peace and Conflict Studies. Many, but not all, of the recordings were done at McMaster University. The topics covered are wide-ranging, and there is enormous diversity within each series. A small selection of some of the more well-represented topics includes post-secondary education in El Salvador, the arms trade, violence in Sri Lanka, the Middle East, Central America, women and violence, nuclear disarmament, trade unionism in South Africa, and human rights in Guatemala. Some of the speakers are Noam Chomsky, Chief Ovide Mercredi, Ursula Franklin, Mubarak Awad, Helen Caldicott, Ramsey Clark, Joseph Rotblat, Gwynne Dyer and Gene Sharp.

The fonds consists of notebooks (35 items) in which Wilson recorded his thoughts, ideas for songs, draft lyrics, occasional drawings, photographs, and more, ca.2003-2010 (also includes 11 photographs); the Florida Razors’ vinyl recording Beat Music, 1986; 14 sound recordings on tape of the Florida Razors, Junkhouse, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, and Wilson solo material; notes and annotated galley proofs of Beautiful Scars; and two paintings by Wilson.

Neil Armstrong fonds

Fonds consists of cassette tapes containing recordings of interviews conducted by Neil Armstrong of prominent Black and Caribbean artists, authors, poets, publishers, academics, and politicians for the York University student radio, CHRY 105.5FM. Interviews cover topics such as Black and Caribbean history, literature, community events, international work, and more. Interviewees include The Honourable Lincoln Alexander, Dionne Brand, Afua Cooper, The Honourable Rosemary Brown, Austin Clarke, George Elliott Clark, Louise Bennett (Miss Lou), and others. Some tapes have interviews or speeches made by these individuals outside of a CHRY interview.

Tapes were numbered in accordance with the original order upon arrival. Note: The “A” or “B” following the tape number reflects which side of the tape the recording may be found. Tapes without an affixed letter contain only one recording.

C.C. Brant fonds

The fonds consists of four letters written to John and Christine McCampbell. All the letters are signed C.C.B. Three are written from Whitney while the fourth is from “Brant and Walker, Z Cross Ranch, Fort St. John, B.C.” The assumption has been made that Christine is his sister and John his brother-in-law, although he does address them as “brother and sister”. The McCampbells are living in Uxbridge Ont. in 1919 and in Thessalon, Ont. in 1922. The most interesting letter is the one written from Fort St. John. He predicts that “this country is going to boom” before too long.

The entries contain the following information: date, number, defendant, complainant, constable, offence, summons or warrant, time of arrest, residence, trade or profession, age, sex, place of birth, religion, education, habits, marital status, convicted or acquitted, fine, costs, sentence, number of days, remarks. The records are contained in a bound leather folio.

Katherine Clarke fonds

Katherine Clarke has dubbed her archives “The Peace House Papers”. Digital copies of the originals and documents from 2009-10 have been placed by her into three folders: book one, “Finding Causes”, consisting of biographical information and letters to her parents between September 1963 and June 1964; book two, “Touring Cuba with 45 Canadians in the summer of 1964 … In the 5th year of La Revolución Cubana”, consisting of photographs of her time in Cuba (including photos of Fidel Castro speaking to a large crowd and playing baseball), photographs of “Harry” and other soldiers (a soldier in Castro’s army, pre-1959, i.e. before the revolution photographs), and her account (entitled “Sugar Daddy”); book three, letters to her parents between September 1964 and March 1965. Originals of most of these materials are also extant in the Clarke fonds.

Anholt and van Dijk family fonds

The fonds consists of the following material: Juliette Celine Anholt, identity card, proof of citizenship, ration cards and printed coupons; also a fake identity card in the name of Helene Engelina Heukers – all with photographs except for the ration cards. Emma (her daughter), a ration card in the name of Emma van Dijk, two school notebooks ca. 1940-42, a book entitled Joosje uit de Heidehut with an inscription from her father on the occasion of her tenth birthday in 1941, a drawing of a child's face 1947, Duik-Kaart 24 April 1945 about her hidden status, an identification card with Nazi stamps 1940s, a psychiatric report dated 8 January 1947, cloth-covered folk dolls of an Orthodox Jewish couple of Polish origin (given to Emma by her father in 1941); for Keetje Kalf, 4 postcards to her parents 1937. There are six original loose photographs of Juliette, Emma, and other family members, an original photograph of her school class in 1938-39 and a photo reproduction of Emma, her brother and sister (March 1943). There is one reproduction of a photograph of Emma’s fifth grade class. Also in the fonds are some documents of Erich Weisz whom Emma met after the war and married. Two identity cards were issued to him in English by the Allied Expeditionary Force in 1945. The third is a letter in Dutch from the Central Registration Office for Jews, 20 December 1945, addressed to Erich Weisz [spelt Weiss on the document].

Emmy Weisz has written some brief recollections of that time which are available with the fonds.

C.T. Atkinson fonds

The fonds consists six letters to C.T. Atkinson, 1926-1930, regarding the publication of his book. There is one page of holograph notes, perhaps by a reviewer, news clippings of book reviews, and a publisher's circular for 1926 which does not list Atkinson's book. There are also two post cards.

Harold LeRoy Ward fonds

The fonds consists of two pilot’s flying log books (22 November 1941 until 2 March 1945), 16 b&w photographs, and a certificate from the Department of National Defence for Air about Ward’s service war record. The two earliest photographs depict Ward as a toddler and the students of his school at Dorchester in 1933. The other photographs relate to World War II: his training at Montreal, friends and acquaintances in the service, and aerial bombardments.
