Waller had written articles for The Sunday Chronicle describing the effects of radioactive fallout, for which he was greatly criticized. He sought Russell’s support. <b>833</b>: Correspondence with George Bilainkin, 1956-63, who attempted to secure Russell's support in his allegations that his ex-wife, Lillian, who had custody of their daughter, was guilty of cruelty to the child. Also includes a copy of Bilainkin's affidavit, a petition, statements, a summary of the case, and other documents. <b>834</b>: Correspondence with Lionel Britton and Elizabeth Barber, and news clippings, 1956-57. Britton completed a George Bernard Shaw play that had been left unfinished at the time of Shaw’s death, but was prevented from publishing it by the Public Trustee. Britton enlisted Russell’s support against the decision. Barber was with the Society of Authors. <b>Note:</b> series number 832 was not used.

The fonds is very comprehensive and includes: 32 notebooks in which Cockburn composed most of his song lyrics from 1969 to 2002; song sheets and scores; correspondence, including fan mail; awards, including gold records; promotional material, including posters; tour books; scrapbooks; photographs; a copy of each of Cockburn’s recordings; video and film items; and other material.

The collection consists of 4 letters from Masefield to Kathleen Harper, 1955-[1956]; a poem “On the Occasion of Her Majesty’s Visit to Canada, 1959”, 8 pages typed and signed by Masefield “For Kathleen Harper, August the 1st 1959”, also a one-page manuscript abridged version of the poem. The collection also contains a b&w photograph of Masefield, signed and inscribed to Harper in 1959 and a copy of Masefield’s play, Good Friday, signed and inscribed to Harper in July 1955.

Series consists predominately of correspondence with heads of state and other political leaders in various countries relating to issues of international politics, including the Cuban missile crisis, the Sino-Indian border dispute, the war in Vietnam, Arab-Israeli relations, etc. Among the correspondents are Chou En-lai (Zhou Enlai) of China, Jawaharlal Nehru of India, Ayub Khan and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto of Pakistan, Nikita Krushchev of the USSR, Secretary General U Thant of the United Nations, Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam, and many others. Letters from Russell and his staff are typescript copies.

By 1963, the Bertrand Russell Peace Foundation had been established, and the affairs of the BRPF are also reflected here. Accordingly, there is some overlap with the BRPF series (311 onward). There is also overlap with series 640 World Affairs. The files are arranged alphabetically by name of country, and also include material relating to the United Nations.

972 Odds and Ends (boxes 11.59-11.60): ephemera and other personal documents, such as pamphlets, leaflets, advertisements, programmes, posters, invitations, circulars, publishers' catalogues, and business cards, as well as news clippings, newsletters, articles (including offprints and photocopies), statements, correspondence, film negatives (including those from an IWCT trip to Vietnam), two maps, a painting of Russell, a dog licence, and blank postcards. Includes photocopies of some of Russell's notable correspondence and articles. There are materials related to a variety of Russell's academic, social, and political interests and activities such as nuclear disarmament, the Kennedy assassination, philosophy, marriage and divorce, BRPF, IWCT, and NCD to name a few.

975 Mimeographed Statements (boxes 11.63-11.67): Series consists of mimeographed copies of Russell's statements, articles, speeches, and correspondence as well as some speeches and articles written by Ralph Schoenman relating to topics such as the treatment of Jews in the Soviet Union, the Vietnam War, and the Cold War. Also includes copies of two issues of the Vietnam Solidarity Bulletin from 1966 and copies of mimeographed statements published in the bulletin.

The collection contains two letters: one, a letter to Mrs. Mesney on 1 November 1955; and another, to W. B. Burwell on 25 July 1955.

Included are correspondence (including letters to editors), circular letters, statements, news clippings, reports, speeches, leaflets, interviews, and newsletters; letters from Russell are typescript copies. Acquired as part of Archives 1.

The fonds consists of engravings, Debenham’s publications in medical journals, articles about him, and a CBC documentary. The fonds is accompanied by Debenham’s collection of books on engraving, lettering, printing, and typography.

The fonds consists mostly of photographs from World War II, with subjects including Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill at the Casablanca Conference; the Allied bombing of the Benedictine monastery at Monte Cassino; troop trucks, mule trains, soldiers and civilians. There are also photographs of the U.S. capitol in 1954 and personal photographs of family and friends. The textual records include correspondence, commendations, discharge papers, and certificates relating to Longini’s military career, as well as news clippings.

A number of her books were removed from the rest of the materials and have been catalogued for Research Collections.

The fonds consists of material created during Farr’s career. The McGill University Press material includes the initial proposal document, newspaper clippings, early design prototypes, and graphic materials produced by the press (page proofs, invitations, greeting cards, prints of R.D. Wilson artwork). The Ryerson Press material includes two logo blocks (publisher’s device), newspaper clippings, and various administrative files. Also included in the fonds: correspondence with Marsh Jeanneret, Donald Sutherland, Dick Wilson and W.H. Clarke from Clarke, Irwin & Co. Ltd.; photographs; an unpublished manuscript entitled The Crooked Axe: A Lighthearted Sketch of Canadian History to 1900 written by Farr in 2008 (unpublished at time of this description), and a copy of The Living Past of Montreal, McGill University Press, 1964, drawn by R.D. Wilson, described by Eric McLean.

The fonds consists of a letter from Brasch to John Masefield and a reply from Masefield, 1953; the draft of a letter from Brasch to John Steinbeck and a reply from Steinbeck, 1954. The fonds is supplemented by a photocopy of an article that Brasch wrote about Steinbeck in San Jose Studiesas well as an offprint of an article in Modern Language Notes by Fraser Bragg Drew which cites the Masefield letter.
