The collection consists of documents prepared by the organizing committee, teaching literature used at the various meetings, posters, statements, and press reports in both French and English.

The first half of the book centers on the theme of death, including obituaries, mathematical predictions of life expectancy, and related items copied from newspapers. The latter half expands to include poetry, epigrams, and other material.

This collection contains uncatalogued pamphlets pertaining to communism, socialism, and class struggle. The pamphlets are global in scope, although they are all in English unless otherwise noted. The bulk of the collection originates from China and Soviet Russia during the post-WWII period, although Cuba and Britain are strongly represented as well. These materials include a selection of translated speeches from Mao Zedong, as well as Joseph Stalin, Vyacheslav Molotov, and other prominent Soviet policy-makers from the era. Also included within the collection are Cuban communist pamphlets from the late 1950s. These documents are comprised of anti-American tracts, pro-revolutionary materials, and a small number of Fidel Castro’s speeches. Some of the Cuban material is only available in French. In addition, there is a small selection of pamphlets published in Britain during the late 1930s and early 1940s concerning class struggle and working conditions for labourers, as well as numerous pamphlets exploring Argentina’s May Revolution of 1810 against Spain. The rest of the collection is composed of miscellaneous pamphlets and publications relating to communism, Marxism or Leninism, civil rights and women's rights.

The content of the posters concerns: Pierre Elliot Trudeau depicted as a lackey; Hardial Bains in Conversation with the President of the East indian Defence Committee in 1978; a ten year anniversary march of the CPC (M-L) in 1980; the first Congress/Communist Youth Union of Canada meeting in 1983.

The fonds consists of the records of the CYC over the course of its existence.

As noted in the Archives 2 print finding aid, "Edith Russell received many condolences" following Bertrand Russell's death on 2 February 1970 and "she personally replied to" those included in this series (though copies of her replies are not here). Of note are letters from Dora Russell and John Conrad Russell offering condolences and revealing that they had intended to visit Russell just before his death.

Series largely consists of Russell's correspondence with the Congress for Cultural Freedom and the Committee on Science and Freedom as well as reports relating to the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, meeting minutes, news clippings, and bulletins. Letters from Russell are typescript copies. The Congress was concerned with the defense of intellectual freedom, particularly in eastern Europe. Russell was an honorary president but severed ties in 1956 because of the anti-communist position of the Congress' American branch. Series acquired as part of Archives 1.

The collection consists of leaflets and other publications produced by the administrative and propaganda arm of the Conservative and Unionist Party of Great Britain.

The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes, publications, reports, press releases, news clippings. There are also printed materials belonging to other groups, including the Japanese Canadian Citizens Association.

Corporation des enseignants du Québec collection consists of published materials, including discussion papers.

The fonds contains a letter to The Most Reverend, The Lord Archbishop of Nova Scotia written by Gordon Cosmo Lang, Archbishop of Canterbury on August 1931. The letter concerns the relations between the Old Catholic and Anglican Churches. The letter is signed "Cosmo Cantuar" which was Lang's customary signature. Series consists of letters addressed to Russell which are written in a nonsensical, ridiculous and/or indignant manner. Some crank mail elicited a response from Russell or his secretary, Ralph Schoenman, and may include typescript copies of replies, but most letters were left unanswered. A considerable amount of letters are from Peter Askey; one box (11.82) contains only letters received from him. Many letters were also sent anonymously.

Acquired as part of Archives 2, the print finding aid for which states: “Every well-known figure must receive crank mail, but Russell seems to have received more than his share. Possibly it was his reputation as a sage that attracted the letters. His staff regularly annotated such mail "crank". … While there may be nothing so dismal as an anonymous crank letter, pseudonymous crank letters can be very entertaining. See, for example, the letters and enclosed "cheques" (ranging from $5000 to $2,000,000,000) from the Virgin Express Alexandra I.”

The fonds contains: correspondences of the Cradock, Atkins, Wood and Crombie families; poems, diaries, legal and genealogical material, essays, stories, legal documents; and various other material. See 'System of Arrangement' below for more detailed description.

The collection contains two letters: one, a letter to Mrs. Mesney on 1 November 1955; and another, to W. B. Burwell on 25 July 1955.

The fonds consists six letters to C.T. Atkinson, 1926-1930, regarding the publication of his book. There is one page of holograph notes, perhaps by a reviewer, news clippings of book reviews, and a publisher's circular for 1926 which does not list Atkinson's book. There are also two post cards.

The papers in this collection consists mainly of material from the First World War relating to Lieut. Cullen Perry and Lieut. John Ham Perry of Whitby, Ontario. The Perry brothers came from a family tradition of military service dating from the Loyalist Oliver Hazard Perry, who fought in the War of 1812 (Battle of Lake Erie). Both volunteered when the war began in 1914. The archive consists of letters, photographs, ephemera, and other service material: Military Service Record book, diary, flight log, and other items. Additionally, there is a scrap book kept by John, following the war.
