Local 1005 was certified by the Supreme Court of Ontario on 6 April 1944. Before that it had been active as Labour Lodge 1005. Its members are employees of the Steel Company of Canada (Stelco).
Scope and content
The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes, circulars, photographs, news clippings, and labour negotiations, agreements, and contracts.
Immediate source of acquisition
Fonds was acquired in 1976. There was a very small second accrual of published material in May 1991.
