Notes area

Physical condition

The plates have been folded to approximately 12 ½ x 17 ½ inches. Fold lines are intact and some plates have minor water staining (VIII) or minor brown staining along fold or where two pieces have been joined together with a paper strip at the time of issue (X, XI, XII, XXI).

The plates are very crisply printed on substantial stock. Some have original colour tinting to indicate different areas or uses. While issued as a set they are rarely found other than in single plates often used for display purposes or illustrations.

Immediate source of acquisition

The collection (2016-010) was donated by Norman Ball in February 2016.
