General note
The first few leaves bear a watermark of a crown over a shield with a horn on it, very similar to one used by James Whatman, but it is difficult to say for certain that it is his. If they are the same, then those pages would date from the mid to late 1700s. The paper in the rest of the book as well as the hand differs from that of the first few pages so it is also possible that this was added at a later date.
