The Co-operative Commonwealth Federation was founded in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1933 and became Canada's first national socialist-democratic party.

The fonds includes records from the founding of the party to its succession by the New Democratic Party.

Most of the collection was acquired from individuals who were members of the party in the early 1970s.

Arrangement

The collection is organized into two series: Federal and Ontario section. It includes minutes of committee, council and executive meetings, convention literature, correspondence, speeches, leaflets and pamphlets. The collection is supplemented by periodicals which have been catalogued for Research Collections; a few scattered periodicals remain with the collection. Leaflets and pamphlets form part of the Pamphlet collection
