Incomplete - lacking leaf 27 (containing lines 86 of Book II, VII to line 26 of Book II, VIII) and the final leaf (containing lines 155 to 176 of Book V).
Accompanying material includes previous binding and binding components.
Binding: Rebound by Bronwen Glover in 2025. Combination Carolingian and Romanesque style binding in calfskin over wooden boards with metal clasps. Previous nineteenth-century calf binding retained separately from the manuscript in a clamshell enclosure (labelled MS 108 Box 2).

The opening leaf contains an illuminated initial "C"; there are rubricated initials throughout. At leaf 41, after the final line of Book III, XVIII and before IX, "O qui perpetua mundum..." there is a diagram of the 4 elements and their interconnections. On the verso of leaf 42 there is an illuminated initial "O" at the beginning of song IX, "O qui perpetua mundum...". Illuminated initial of an animal bearing a harp at incipit of Book IV (leaf number). Illuminated red initial at incipit of Book V.

Item was acquired by McMaster sometime before 1960.
Further accruals are not expected.
A previous owner was Sir Thomas Phillipps, whose ink stamp is present on the endpapers of the previous binding. This manuscript is listed as No. 904 in the Phillipps catalogue, and was purchased by Phillipps from the sale of the collection of Luigi Celotti, March 14, 1825 (see entry 56 in Sotheby, Celotti Manuscripts, 1825). A pencil note "Celotti" is present on the endpapers of the previous binding.
