The fonds consists of manuscripts and typescripts; correspondence (includes personal, Bertrand Russell, legal, and newspapers); theatre material; book and journals; reviews of her books; and photographs (many of them theatrical) created by and for Constance Malleson in her life as an actress and writer. The fonds also contains manuscripts, photograph albums containing watercolours by Percy French and other materials belonging to Priscilla, Lady Annesley, which document her life as a member of the Anglo-Irish aristocracy.

Rennell Rodd - Letter to Oscar Wilde

The recipient of the letter, Oscar Wilde, wit and dramatist (1854-1900) was a contemporary of Rodd's at Oxford. In 1881 Rodd published a book of verse, Songs in the South. Wilde had this book republished in the United States in 1882, when he was visiting there, by J.M. Stoddart & Co., of Philadelphia. The title was changed to Rose Leaf and Apple Leaf and Wilde wrote an introduction, "L'Envoi". The letter makes no reference to the book but was written to Wilde in the United States.

There are also two letters written by Sir Leslie Stephen to Mrs. Holman Hunt and one letter from E. M. Forster to Mr. Roberts. The collection also contained George Spater's book collection which has been catalogued.

The second and third accruals consist of adaptations of two of James' novels by other authors. The fourth accrual is a copyright registration document.

The fourteenth accrual (52-2008) consists of 4 letters to and from T.G. Reed. The fifteenth accrual (2012-001) consists of early writings, contracts, personal and awards, research material, chronological files, printed material, correspondence, photographs and sound recordings. The sixteenth accrual (2013-040) consists of writings; correspondence; personal, art work and graphic publications; subject files and photographs, graphic and printed materials.

Alexander Wallace, M.P., who wrote a Master's thesis on McGee at McMaster University in 1916. The materials include: correspondence, interview notes with John M. McGee, half-brother of Thomas D'Arcy McGee, typed copy of a letter from McGee to A. M. Sullivan, editor, Nation, Dublin, 25 June 1866, and research notes concerning McGee and Whelan. The collection consists of: an original photograph, the Simcoe family estate in Wolford, England, with a woman, possibly Mrs. Simcoe, on the front lawn; a handwritten copy of a letter from her daughter, Sophia Simcoe, originally written in June 1835, mentioning her mother and Mrs. Scadding; a typewritten extract from an article by Henry Crawford Scadding commenting on an event in Mrs. Simcoe's diary. The dates of creation of the latter two items are not known.

The fonds consists of Russell's manuscripts, correspondence, library, periodicals, offprints, leaflets, photographs, audio discs, audio reels, audio cassettes, films, videocassettes, microfilms, news clippings, posters, some furniture, artwork (including a bust by Jacob Epstein), awards and medals. Also included are records of the Bertrand Russell Peace Foundation, including those that relate to the International War Crimes Tribunal. The archive is supplemented by a supporting research library of books, theses about Russell, and his publications in periodicals. The fonds also contains the archives of Russell's parents, Viscount and Viscountess Amberley. The fonds has been supplemented with ongoing acquisitions of original material from a variety of sources, as well as copies of selected material held elsewhere.
