There have been seven accruals. The first accrual consists of: manuscripts and typescripts of some published works; literary correspondence; and typescripts and related correspondence pertaining to specific poetry. It is divided into two series: manuscripts and typescripts; and literary correspondence, which is divided into two subseries (correspondence relating to individual poetry books; and general literary correspondence). The second accrual consists correspondence and manuscripts arranged into three series: Harbinger Poetry, the Literary Review of Canada and Levenson's collected poems. The third accrual consists of four series: collected poems; manuscripts and typescripts; other literary activities; correspondence. The fourth accrual consists of four series: manuscripts, collected poems, sound recording, personal and literary correspondence. The fifth accrual consists of three series: writings, correspondence, and other work. The sixth accrual contains writing and correspondence. The seventh accrual consists of the collected poems for Levenson's thirteenth volume of poetry, as well as correspondence, recordings, and teaching material. The eighth accrual includes reviews, publications, and posters. The ninth accrual consists of the collected poems for Levenson's fourteenth volume of poetry, correspondence, and recordings. The tenth accrual consists of collected poems for Levenson’s fourteenth volume of poetry and correspondence.

Collection consists of newspapers and periodicals (114 titles, ca. 400 issues); broadsides (33 items); leaflets (341 items); and books and pamphlets (84 items) and other documents (27 items) produced by or relating to the underground resistance in France during the Second World War. Also included are related materials: ephemera from the pre-War and “Phony War” periods (15 items); Free French and other foreign publications (43 items); items related to the liberation of Paris (8 items) and to the period immediately after the liberation (45 items); autograph letters and manuscripts (20 items); and books inscribed by their authors (60 items). Most of the documents are in French, while some are in German or Yiddish.

The collection is supplemented by Did Six Million Really Die?, report of the Evidence in the Canadian "False News" Trial of Ernst Zundel, ed. Barbar Kulszka (Toronto, 1992).

This is a small collection of posed group photographs of military and civilian units, the majority of which are mounted on board and list the individuals in each photograph.

This collection contains posters issued by Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The posters have been numbered sequentially with prefixes of A, C, B, and U. Facsimiles and duplicates are noted in the finding aid. Subject matter varies: recruitment, Victory Bonds, activities on the Home Front to aid and protect the troops, gas attacks and bombs, ARP. Although this is mainly a collection of posters, there is one photograph (C24) and one calendar (C21).

The collection consists of typescripts, correspondence, photographs, scrapbooks, reports, sheet music, printed materials (Canada, Britain, Australia and the United States) and uncatalogued pamphlets (some in German) pertaining mainly to Britain's participation in World War II. The collection is supplemented by books which have been catalogued for Archives and Research Collections, including a full set of the British Official History of the War, unit and regimental histories, biographies and autobiographies, and volumes on the various battles and operations of the British forces. There is also a poster collection which contains one photograph (#C24).

The collection consists of posters issued by the following British organizations: Parliamentary Recruiting Committee, London; Parliamentary War Savings Committee; National War Savings Committee; Joint Labour Recruiting Committee; Ministry of National Service; Navy; Imperial Maritime League; City of London; and Blue Cross fund. The collection also contains posters issued by the governments of Canada (includes Canadian Victory Bonds), France, United States and Germany. There are a large number of posters from Louvain, Belgium. There are also several posters issued by the German occupying forces in France and Belgium and the British occupying forces in Germany.

John Innes Merrylees fonds

Fonds consists of a diary kept by Merrylees from 1914-1918. From 1914-1916 it exists in typescript form only. From January 1917 to November 1917 his diary exists in manuscript and typescript form. Diary entries from March to June 1918 are handwritten on loose sheets. The date that the typescript was created is not known. The fonds also consists of orders issued by the adjutant, Captain Colin Dunean, Queen's Regiment, and Merrylees's correspondence with the adjutant, 1918; maps, predominately of Europe but also one of Gaza; Merrylees's commission certificate, and various printed materials and realia, including his Middlesex regiment insignia.

There have been six accruals. Four accruals from the 1970s have been combined and consist of stage plays, radio and television material, his thesis on T.S. Eliot and other related works, articles and book reviews, poetry, and correspondence. The fifth accrual consists of stage, radio and television plays, poems and short stories, a book about creative writing, and correspondence. Sound recordings, moving images and photographic slides also form part of the fonds. They are been removed from their accruals and are stored separately.
