The collection consists of letters and documents concerning several voyages made by the Réamur. There is correspondence from La compaignie générale maritime, Le gouvernment des establissement français dans l'Inde (India), and La Ministère de l'Algérie (Algeria) et des colonies. Recipients include Monsieur de Challié, capitaine de vaipeau, president de la commission supérieure d'immigration. The collection also contains two swatches of jute, perhaps woven by artisans in Pondicherry

World War, 1939-1945, Jewish Underground Resistance

Collection consists of original documents collected by David Diamant over a period of approximately 30 years dealing primarily with the Jewish segment of the French underground resistance; many of the documents originate with communist groups, and some deal with Polish groups. Most of the documents are in French, while some are in Yiddish.

Cigar label collection

This collection consists primarily of illustrative labels from cigar boxes manufactured by cigar companies in the United States in the last decade of the nineteenth century when cigar companies became aware of the importance of advertising their products to a large number of discriminating cigar smokers. The major companies were: Geo. S. Harris & Sons, Lith. Phila.; L.E. Neumann & Co.; Schumacher & Ettinger N.Y.; and Schmidt & Co. With regard to Canadian cigar companies, Adam Beck. London Ont. is represented, and there is also a box lid from Joseph Winterhalt of Berlin (now Kitchener), Ont. The labels were lithographed with original designs and often patriotic motifs: young women, historical figures, heroes of battles, native people, sports and leisure, Cuba and the Caribbean, and events of the day. Canadian sheet music collection

There have been six accruals. The first accrual consists mainly of sheet music. There are also programmes, books and pamphlets in the first accrual as well as puzzles and games, time blocks, wooden notes -- all of these used to teach children music by the Fletcher music method. The second accrual consists mainly of books although there is some sheet music. The third and fourth accruals (26-2007; 50-2008) are sheet music, as are the fifth and sixth accruals. Many of the books in the second accrual are published in the United States and Britain. Eventually the books from both accruals will be catalogued either for Research Collections or the general library stacks. There are still several boxes of sheet music that have not yet been unpacked. There are also three copies of a poster, "'Cello, Otto Joachim, Kinderspiel", n.d.

Canadian politics collection

There have been five accruals. The collection consists of items related to Canadian politics. It includes correspondence, posters, photographs, campaign literature, a newspaper, and cartoon drawings by Duncan Macpherson.

Georgian Songs collection

There have been two accruals. The first accrual consists of 923 songs from 1714-1830. The second accrual consists of approximately 1,000 songs from 1700-1830. Both accruals of songs are mainly from the Georgian Era, that is during the reigns of the four Georges. The majority of the songs were published in London, England.

The Hamilton history collection consists of essays written about Hamilton by McMaster students for Professor John Weaver of the McMaster University History Department and numbered file folders containing news clippings about Hamilton.

Additionally, it lists some material available in the Marjorie Freeman Campbell and Mabel Burkholder collections, which are related to the material here.

Franz Liszt and his circle collection

Twenty-four of the letters are written by Liszt to a variety of correspondents; one letter is addressed to Liszt from the Executive Committee for the Mozart Jubilee. There is one letter from Dr. S. Jadassohn to an unknown correspondent. The letters are in French and German. The collection also includes translations of documents, a conference report for a concert held in Budapest, a piano completion certificate for one of Liszt's students, a photograph and a contract.

There have been two accruals. The first accrual consists almost entirely of printed materials and ephemera. There is one file folder of typescripts and holograph notes. Included in the collection are the 1946 and 1949 constitutions, pamphlets, programs, election materials for Tim Buck and others, conference reports, and correspondence course outlines. Some of the material was issued by the Toronto and Yorks Committee of the party, others by the Ontario Committee. The majority of the collection consists of printed materials and periodicals from a variety of other organizations, in Canada and abroad. There is one signed petition to the Mayor and Council of the City of Toronto which was organized by the Toronto Councils of Unemployed. The second accrual (17-2001) consists of a cigarette once belonging to Tito, correspondence, a speech, Tim Buck programs, and printed autographed materials concerning Paul Robeson.

Thomas D'Arcy McGee collection

The collection consists of 23 letters from McGee to John O'Donohoe (1824-1902), a senator.The McGee collection also contains the research materials of J. Alexander Wallace, M.P., who wrote a Master's thesis on McGee at McMaster University in 1916. The materials include: correspondence, interview notes with John M. McGee, half-brother of Thomas D'Arcy McGee, typed copy of a letter from McGee to A. M. Sullivan, editor, Nation, Dublin, 25 June 1866, and research notes concerning McGee and Whelan.
