A copy of the Franklin B. Hough edition of the journals of Major Robert Rogers, edited and with additional material by Walter Frederic Beattie. The Hough edition of this book was published in Albany, N.Y., by J. Munsell's in 1883.

The writer of this journal was a woman. In the spring of 1829 she travelled to Cornwall and Kingston. Later on she went to the United States. She arrived in Liverpool on 22 Sept. 1830 and returned to her home, near to Glasgow, Scotland.

An assessment for the necessary relief of the poor, & for the other purposes relating to the poor, for the parish of Box, made and assessed the 21st day of October 1764 as follows.

Fonds consists of Archibald Macdonald's journal. It takes the form of a bound manuscript, 363 pages in length, many of the pages left blank. Stamped on spine is "Macdonald Journal". The first entry is 7 February 1805 written in London, England. The last entry is 6 December 1839. Text runs from p. 1 to p. 117. At that point some pages have been cut from the journal. Page 358 contains an index to the contents of pp. 1-71. There is also text on pp. 357, 361-3. Journal is written either with different hands or one hand that varied greatly over time.

A letter written by John Wilkes to "the worthy electors of the borough of Aylesbury in the county of Bucks" on 22 October 1764.

The text of the manuscript gives M. le Juge Panet's decision about the right of the parish priest and the church wardens of St. Croix to control the disposition of church pews. The judge is possibly Philippe Panet (1791-1855), appointed judge of the Court of the King's Bench for the district of Quebec in 1832, suspended 1838-1840, and returned to the bench, 1840-1855. Pasted inside the front cover is a news clipping about the case.

The manuscript lists what appear to be the previous homes of the congregation: Broadway Hall, Brunswick Avenue, and now Bathurst Sreet in Toronto and then a summary of the program for the 28th of August 1904. Following this, it seems that all the congregants signed the book. Loose in the manuscript is a printed list of names and a published picture of the church exterior. Many of the names in the book correspond to the printed list.

A folder of 7 loose pages with illustrations depicting fortifications and defensive structures. The drawings and notes are in at least two or three hands. Some of the explanatory text references page numbers in an as yet unidentified book.

Elizabeth Mary Copley was given a blank bound manuscript in 1814. In this book she copied out selected pieces from different authors in various languages. She titled the work "Miscellanies" There are 65 pages in the manuscript.

The manuscript contains excerpts from all four books of Horace's Odes in Latin, with English notes. As well as words noted in the margin that may be keys to the text. After this follows similar notes on the first book of his Epodes, a page on his Carmen Saeculare, and two pages on his Satires. In the same hand are the summaries to the first two books of Livy's Ab Urbe Condita. The excerpt was dated 28 September 1713.

There is a second hand that added notes after the first, for various recipes including medicine, wine, and ink.

Most of the leaves are blank. A bookplate containing an armorial crest and motto, "Deo avers leo vinci tur", is pasted on the inside cover. An earlier examiner of the manuscript tentatively identified it as Newenham of Coolmore, County Cork. Stamped on spine: Poetry.

The book is a series of different manuscripts, gathered together into one volume. The compiler has numbered all the pages and included an overall index. The pages come from various sources causing repeats of individuals and in a few places incomplete entries.
