Manuscript contains regulations, laws and pleas of various types from the municipal laws of England from the reign of William III (Brevium, procepionem, placitorum, diversi generis, secundum jus municipale).

One leaf from a bible. Encased in a custom portfolio with string ties. Portfolio is marked "Latin Vulgate Bible, Italy, 1280 A.D." and bears the initials "G.T.W."

With illuminated letter "D" and red marginal ornamentation on one side, ornamented letters "E" and "I" and red and blue marginal ornamentation on the other side. Leaf is enclosed in double sided white board mount.

Several leaves are left blank. Inside the front cover is written the following inscription: Lent me by Mr. Henry Reading of Middle Temple.

The item is a letter from M. Montagu to an unknown woman. Montagu is sending regrets about not being able to visit before they leave.

Gordon Bottomley was an English poet and playwright, born in Keighley, Yorkshire on 20 February 1874 who began his working life as a bank clerk. He died on 25 August 1948 in Oare, England.

An item of personal correspondence from Francis Richard Charles Grant to Sir Thomas Wemyss Reid.

Manuscript is in Latin, partly on vellum and partly on paper. The text consists of prayers and supplicatory rituals dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It is followed by the Office of the Angels, commencing at leaf 85, in a different hand. Nicholas Watson suggests in his essay in Clare Fanger's book Conjuring Spirits: Texts and Traditions of Medieval Ritual Magic (1990) that the manuscript is a partial copy of the Liber Visionum by Jean de Morigny, with the first part likely having been composed between 1304 and 1307 and the second part composed before 1315. Manuscript is bound in reinforced vellum with "Codex" stamped on spine and slipcased with "Prayer book. c 1460" stamped on spine.

Manuscript contains 12 illustrations and decorations executed by an amateurish other hand, all near the front.

Item consists of a list of plants collected by Judge Logie.

The ledger lists customers and their orders for tea, coffee, chocolate, tobacco (usu. snuff), and other goods. An index at the beginning references pages. Inscribed on the spine is T.T. Leidger B 1715. This is repeated on the front cover, but appears to say TI instead of TT.

There is an index of the 26 ships listed in the log: Medway, Moresby, Narborough, Nepean, Nictator, Nereus, Norseman, Obdurate, Octavia, Oracle, Onslow, Oriana, Orpheus, Oriole, Orsis, Oberon, Pelican, Paladin, Penn, Petard, Pigeon, Paisley, Pylades (all Admiralty M-Class); Nerissa and Rival (Yarrow M-Class) and Patrician (Thornycroft M-Class). Following the index, beginning on page 100 are entries about each ship. Paravanes (P.V.) are devices towed behind a vessel at a regulated depth, so that the cable to which it is attached can cut the moorings of submerged mines. It was a new weapon in World War I. In addition to information about the paravanes, the log also contains maintenance and circuit test notes. Two of the destroyers, Oracle (p. 149) and Pasley (p. 169) had collisions with submarines.
