Front de libération du Québec collection consists of leaflets, a manifesto, and published material by others about the FLQ. The audio cassettes contain speeches and discussions. There are also printed materials issued by Comité d'aide groupe "Vaillières-Gagnon", containing background material on FLQ principals, their statements and trials: Charles Gagnon, Pierre-Paul Geoffroy, Robert Lévesque, and Pierre Vallières.

The fonds (accession 23-2000) consists of administrative files and correspondence with the speakers who participated in the Shakespeare Seminar held at the Stratford Festival (Stratford, Ont.) between 1961 and 1976. Sponsored by a consortium of Canadian Universities, the Shakespeare Seminar was organized by the Department of Extension at McMaster University under Jackson's directions. The speakers include Shakespearian scholars (e.g. F.W. Bateson, L.C. Knights, and J.F. Kermode), critics and celebrities (e.g. Anthony Burgess, Robertson Davies and Northrop Frye), and actors and directors (e.g. Sir Tyrone Guthrie, Robin Phillips, and William Hutt).

The collection consists of materials concerning rules, disputes and labour negotiations with unions of the the Canadian Pacific Railway, the Canadian National Railway and the Grand Trunk Railway system. Some of the unions involved include: Locomotive Engineers, Locomotive Firemen, Conductors, Baggagemen and Brakemen, Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Yardmasters, Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen. The collection is supplemented by books which have been catalogued for Archives and Research Collections, including a full set of the British Official History of the War, unit and regimental histories, biographies and autobiographies, and volumes on the various battles and operations of the British forces. There is also a poster collection which contains one photograph (#C24).

There have been two accruals. The first accrual measures 6 cm and covers the period 1943-1992; predominant 1975-1992. It consists of various publications produced by de Havilland, Boeing and Bombardier. They include company, periodicals, calendars, postcards, leaflets and programmes, as well as illustrated product information sheets on the Dash-7 and Dash-8. There are pamphlets on the merger with Boeing and with Bombardier. There is one newspaper clipping about Olivia de Havilland’s visit to Toronto in 1988. There is also an oversize drawing of the de Havilland Mosquito IV printed from The Aeroplane, England, 7 May 1943. The second accrual measures 5 cm, 1927-1958. It consists of photographs, pamphlets and newsletters. There are photographs of the Beaver, Caribou, Chipmunk, Fox Moth, Mosquito bombers, and the Moth. The Caribou was sold to the U.S. Army; many of the photographs are of the Army training.

Periodicals (first accrual) issued by the company, DownsViews and Just Plane Facts have been catalogued for Research Collections.

There have been three accruals. The first accrual consists mainly of World War I and II materials, although there are materials from the American Civil War and Vietnam. It includes Christmas cards, postcards, letters, pamphlets, photographs, and periodicals. Although mainly Canadian and British, other nationalities are represented. The second accrual consists of a few World War I and II items, 3 pennants, a swagger stick, a print and other items, including NORAD materials and photographs. The third accrual consists of photographs, advertising in support of the military, cards and other printed materials, and realia, all from the twentieth century. The fourth accrual is menu in the style of a fan for the Queen's Own Rifles 1912 dinner.

The collection (18-2001) consists of correspondence mainly from Aldwinckle to Somers, poetry, pen and ink sketches and drawings, and one water-colour.

Chartism was a working class reform movement in England during the period from roughly 1836 to 1850. Its name was taken from The People's Charter and its leaders included William Lovett and Feargus O'Connor (1794-1855). The Chartists agitated for better working conditions, universal male suffrage, and other political reforms. The movement ultimately dissipated due to disagreements among its members and the rise of other reform bodies such as the Anti-Corn Law League.
