Fonds consists of a minute book, five letters, 1916-1918, notes, and news clippings. The minutes cover the period from December 1915 to October 1918; the last set of minutes is found loose in the minute book. The bound minute book commences with a name index of those who appeared before the tribunal.

The letter concerns the death of her son, Lawrence Gunn Newell, on 23 April 1915 from wounds sustained during the advance on Ypres. The letter also concerns another son, Claude, and other soldiers from the Watford area. The Newell brothers were the sons of Thomas and Sarah Newell. Gunn Newell was the first Lambton County solider to die in the Great War. Copeland asks her to have the essence of his letter printed in the Watford newspaper.

The collection consists mainly of correspondence between family members and close friends during the First World War, as well as some military documents and photographs.

The fonds contains correspondence between Evelyn Mae Kapitain and her brother Charles G. Kapitain during his time served in the AEF. Also included are military associated letters and documents, newspaper clippings, two German postcards found in the Argonne Woods and US military postcards to Evelyn Kapitain from an unknown individual.

The collection consists of Cpt. Read’s First World War military maps and Active Service Testament. An 1808 map of Russia. A copy of Col. R. Meinertzhagen’s Birds of Arabia, which belonged to Cpt. Read’s son.

The fonds consists of letters that Gerald Blake wrote to his mother and to his brother, Clive Blake, of London, England, concerning his experiences on the Western front. There are also a few letters from Angus Macmillan to Clive Blake. Macmillan was also at the front.

There have been two accruals. The first accrual consists of two night order books, 1914-1915, 166 pages and 1915, 161 pages. The second accrual consists of a bound notebook (40 pages) containing a memoir written by George H.J. Hanks who was a Sick Bay Attendant on the Carnarvon. It was written in 1915 in Montreal while the ship was undergoing repairs and contains an extract from the ship's log for the Battle of Falkland Islands (p. 40). The fonds is supplemented by a transcript of the diary prepared by Robert K. Hanks, available in hard copy and on a CD. It includes additional documentation, including profiles of opposing fleets and maps

This collection consists of:

1. A poem written and illustrated by Moyes about the Second Battle of Ypres, at Saint Julien, Belgium. [1915].
2. “Ready for the Trenches. Every man is now equipped with a splinter proof helmet before going to the Trenches.” 13th Can. Batt. Pen and ink illustration. 1916.
3. “Map showing position of Rest Billets.” A pen and ink map of the area just north of Bailleul and Meteren, France, notes the location of the 13th-16th Battalions. On the back are listed five casualties are listed on the back. [1916?].

The fonds consists of ten letters written by Millen to his wife, Helen Ethel Millen. The letters outline the day-to-day activities Millen participated in. A letter written in July 1918 comments on the arrival of the "Yankee" troops. A letter written 6 September 1918 provides details of Millen's involvement with the battles along the Hindenburg Line on 2 and 3 September 1918.

The fonds consists of the elder Jackson’s demobilization certificate, his son’s Soldier’s Service and Pay Book and a Services Diary kept by the younger Jackson in 1942. The diary also contains a sheet of Indian Postage service stamps. There is also a map drawn by hand of the voyage Jackson took beginning on HMT Orion and ending in Bombay on HMT Almanzora.

The album contains 115 b&w photographs. There are photographs of the following: the H.M.S. Megantic; Reid in a graduation gown; soldiers in uniform, on board ship, in tents, and on horseback; medical and dental staff; views of buildings (King’s College, Cambridge, for example), and hospitals and clinics (London General Hospital and the Etchinghill Hospital, etc). Most of the photographs are unidentified. Approximately 30 photographs were taken between 1920 and 1925; they depict Reid, his family, and friends at Severn River and Wood’s Bay. He worked as a dentist in Toronto as late as 1925.

The fonds consists of letters starting just prior to Gibson’s enlistment to his return to Canada, as well as pocket diaries for the years he served and some military documents.
