Gordon Bottomley was an English poet and playwright, born in Keighley, Yorkshire on 20 February 1874 who began his working life as a bank clerk. He died on 25 August 1948 in Oare, England.

Bargain and sale by John Jones of Niagara [Niagara-on-the-Lake] in Lincoln in the province of Upper Canada, tailor, and Jane, his wife, to Phinihas Howell of Niagara, carpenter, of a tract of land, with all buildings on it, on the north-eastern part of Lot 30 in the town of Niagara for £294. Jones had the land by letters patent, dated 16 Nov. 1804 (registered 7 Dec. 1804 in Book R, fol. 351). Boundaries of the property include Prideaux Street and the house of Elizabeth Thompson. Among the conditions of sale, for ten shillings, Jane Jones agreed to quitclaim her right to her dower. Dated at Niagara, 29 Jan. 1806. Signed and sealed by John Jones, Jane Jones, and Phinihas Howell. Witnesses, A[lexander] Cameron and J. Macdonell.

Rennell Rodd - Letter to Oscar Wilde

The recipient of the letter, Oscar Wilde, wit and dramatist (1854-1900) was a contemporary of Rodd's at Oxford. In 1881 Rodd published a book of verse, Songs in the South. Wilde had this book republished in the United States in 1882, when he was visiting there, by J.M. Stoddart & Co., of Philadelphia. The title was changed to Rose Leaf and Apple Leaf and Wilde wrote an introduction, "L'Envoi". The letter makes no reference to the book but was written to Wilde in the United States.

Bargain and sale, with dower, by Timothy Buckly and Julia, his wife, to Mary Anne Foley, wife of Declan Foley, of a tract of land being Lot Number 18 in the Seventh Concession, containing 200 acres and the north-east half of Lot Number 26 in the Third Concession containing 100 acres and the south west part of Lot Number 27 in the Second Concession containing 54 acres and Lot Number 72 in the Sixth Concession contain 70 acres, all in of the Township of North Crosby in the County of Leeds for the sum of $20.
Indenture was printed and sold by Charles J. Hynes, Messenger Office, Prescott. Signed by Timothy and Julia Buckly, witnessed by James and John Buckly. The deed was registered by George B. Glasford, Deputy Register, County of Leeds
This indenture, which was cut into sections, has been repaired with backing paper.

The letter from Charlotte Stopes to James Graham is dated 26 February 1889 and was found inside Stopes’s book, The Bacon-Shakspere Question Answered (London: Trubner, 1889). The book also contains an inscription from Stopes to Graham. The letter recollects that they met at a British Association meeting in 1876 and that Graham offered assistance with the advancement of the cause of women.
