The fonds contains a letter to The Most Reverend, The Lord Archbishop of Nova Scotia written by Gordon Cosmo Lang, Archbishop of Canterbury on August 1931. The papers in this collection consists mainly of material from the First World War relating to Lieut. Cullen Perry and Lieut. John Ham Perry of Whitby, Ontario. The Perry brothers came from a family tradition of military service dating from the Loyalist Oliver Hazard Perry, who fought in the War of 1812 (Battle of Lake Erie). Both volunteered when the war began in 1914. The archive consists of letters, photographs, ephemera, and other service material: Military Service Record book, diary, flight log, and other items. Additionally, there is a scrap book kept by John, following the war.

The fonds consists of two series. One series contains correspondence, submissions, photographs (both used and not used) and issue files for Canada: An Historical Magazine. The other series contains microfilms of historical research materials that Gagan used for his book, Hopeful Travellers: Families, Land and Social Change in Mid-Victorian Peel County, Canada West (c 1981). The fonds consists of one folder of correspondence. The correspondence concerns the formation of the Toronto chapter of the Independent Socialists, highlights some of the activities of the Vancouver chapter, including an expulsion, and discusses the distribution of literature, particularly information about the plight of workers in Portugal. Relationships between British, Irish, Australian, American and Canadian chapters and their beliefs are outlined. Correspondents include Jeff Rose, Kit Lyons and Merry Philbin. Don Lake's early contact name in correspondence was David Gordon.

Dorset (England) manuscript collection

The collection consists of seven inventories, compiled for each Dorset parish, of the number of farmers, livestock, amount and type of crops (dead stock), number of servants who can be mounted on horseback, number of servants who can be armed with pickaxes and shovels. The inventories were collected by Lord Milton's Corps of Yeomanry Calvary, the volunteer Dorset Rangers. It seems likely that the inventory was prepared in anticipation of a French invasion.
