Physical description

This training notebook of almost 400 pages documents Saville's military instruction especially in relation to the RAF. It includes a number of illustrations and instructive diagrams in the handwritten text. At the end twelve photographs, mostly of First World War bi-planes, including a number of crashed crafts.

Biographical history

Born in England, Harold Saville emigrated to Hamilton, Ontario just before the outbreak of the First World War. When war broke out he returned to England and enlisted first in the Cavalry and then in the Air Force. He served with the RAF and was shot down, but survived. He returned to Hamilton where he lived until his death in 1950.
